Cello Beginner II

Cello Beginner II: Week #4

Week #4

List of Goals for the week:

Warm Up: Scales separate, bowed, 2, 3, 4 to a bow

Scale: G scale two octaves

Technique: shift from 1st to 4th position

Paragraph summary of what was covered in class

We reviewed all scales and shifting technique, and learned the two octave G scale.  We also bowed BITW from the beginning to B, and plucked from B-C

Assignment for next week

Practice the beginning bowed, and the new section plucked - both in the same manner as last week. If you’re feeling confident about B-C plucked, you can begin to practice it bowed as well.

How to Practice this at home

Set the metronome to a pace that is fairly comfortable, then gradually increase the speed.  If there are particular notes or spots you get stuck and fall behind the beat, focus around those and/or slow the metronome down.
