BANTAM STUDIOS ENSEMBLE PROGRAM
Bantam Studios' ensemble program provides an introductory opportunity for students to start playing in an ensemble with multi-instruments and with other students at the same level and have the potential to grow their musicianship and ensemble skills preparing students for real-world playing opportunities.
Folk Jam Ensemble
Course LEVEL 104+
This 104+ level class is open to students who have completed a 103 level on Guitar, Mandolin, Electric Bass, Violin and Cello. Students will learn how to follow chord progressions on their instrument and what their instrument's role is in a jam setting. The repertoire for this course will change from semester to semester.
Students must have experience reading chord charts and have at least skills equivalent to a 103 level course at Bantam Studios on Guitar, Mandolin, Electric Bass, Violin and Cello.
Chamber Strings Beginner
COURSE LEVEL 106
Chamber Strings Beginner is open to students who have completed a 105 level on Violin, Cello and Viola. This course provides students an introduction to chamber ensembles and will focus on classical repertoire. Students will practice sight reading, period articulation, instrument roles in a chamber music setting, reading independent parts, and rehearsal protocol and etiquette.
A conceptual knowledge of triplets, dotted eighth/sixteenths, hooked bows, full dynamic range (pp-ff) and the ability to sight-read quarters and eighth notes at quarter = 65
Violin + Viola: 3rd position with knowledge of 5th position.
Cello: extensions, half position, 4th position.

Students can repeat Chamber Strings Beginner up to (4) four semesters and then should continue onto Chamber Strings Advanced
Chamber Strings Advanced
COurse Level 107+
Chamber Strings Advanced is designed for students who have either previously played in an ensemble setting or have completed a 106 level course at Bantam Studios on Violin, Cello and Viola. The repertoire for this course will change from semester to semester.
